Wood engraving is a relief printmaking process using the end-grain of the wood. In this workshop you will be provided with two end-grain boxwood blocks and tools to create your marks and patterns onto the surface of the block. At the beginning of the workshop we will draw our designs onto paper, then dent or score the block with your patterns and shapes using the tools provided. Once the blocks are carved,  we ink the surface using black printing ink and block print onto Japanese paper and scrap pieces of paper.
