for oxfam

Oxfam donated a bag of wool for the group and they knitted these lovely jumpers to be sold in the Kingston store.

Celebrating

On Tuesday 29th July the knitters will be celebrating a whole year together. I can't believe how well this year has gone and the amount of amazing garments made. Please join us for cake from 10.30-12.30 at the Rose Theatre.

This is where it started

My Godmother Bobby knitted the most incredible and wacky garments whilst I was going up.

After graduating from University I decided to start a knitting group in aid of the wonderful fairy Godmother. Since July 2013 the knitting group began at the Rose Theatre in Kingston.

On the 2nd and last Tuesday of the month the knitters turn up at the Rose Theatre Cafe from 10.30 - 12.30 sipping tea, eating cake and chatting too much - well that will be myself and the fairy Godmother.

Anything goes with this group, knitting, french knitting, finger knitting, crochet, stitching, quilting, felting...

The idea is to create an item of clothing or an object of some kind, I will then sell it to raise money or pass it on to a chosen charity.

To date there are about 30 members (even a few men!)

Don't worry if you haven't knitted before - i'm pretty useless myself - just turn up and give it a go!
