SCREEN PRINT

This workshop is suitable for both beginners and experienced printers. Printers will draw and create hand-cut paper stencils for screen printing onto textile surfaces. You will have the opportunity to print onto a range of heavy and lightweight materials, layering colours and designs.

In this hands-on, practical workshop, you will also explore how to prepare your workspace for printing and mixing your own print pastes using water-based inks and binders. By the end of the session, you will have a collection of A5–A3 samples for your portfolio, sketchbook, or mood-boards and a final piece.

The workshop is designed to build confidence in drawing and printing, while encouraging mixed-media creativity within design. You will gain a deeper understanding of the processes, equipment, and materials needed to continue printing independently at home.

This workshop will show you how to:

  • Draw and mark-make

  • Design

  • Cut paper stencils

  • Screen print

  • Use textures to create patterns

  • Print designs onto material

  • Print onto a final piece

All materials will be provided in this workshop, and participants are encouraged to explore any materials they may have at home or sourced from a charity shop for printing during the session.
